WINTER FESTIVALS IN KOREA

DURING THE WINTER VACATION, THERE ARE MANY FESTIVALS HELD IN KOREA. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOME EXCITEMENT, HOW ABOUT PARTICIPATING IN THESE FESTIVALS?

(*Because of COVID-19 restriction those festivals could be canceled this year.)

 Jaraseom Singsing Winter Festival(Gapyeong)

In this festival, you can do can grab and catch trouts with your hand! You can catch trouts as many as you want but you can only take 2 of them to your home. There are over 1million people participating in this festival every year. In addition, there are some programs providing the funny experience riding bum cars and sled. If you like fishing, don’t hesitate to go to this festival!

Opening period: December- February

Location: 1035, Eumnae-ri, Gapyeong-eup, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea

Program fee: trout fishing(17000won), trout bare hands fishing(16000won), ATV(10,000won), bumper car/cart/sledding(8000won for each, sledding is free)

BaekWoon Valley DongjangKun Festival(Pocheon)

Have you ever been in winter land full of stuff made of snow? In BaekWoon Valley DongjangKun Festival, you can walk around snow castle theme park, and also you can do ice fishing. You can enjoy delicious food like Makgeolli, Galbi. You can participate in Korean traditional folk games such as top-spinning game, flying kite etc

Opening period : December- January

Location : 2381, Hwadong-ro, Idong-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea

Program fee : trout ice fishing(15000won), ice castle amusement park(5000won), catching icefish(5000won), sledding(8000won)

Byeokchoji Botanical Garden Lighting Festival (Paju)

Do you like night view in Korea? In Byeokchoji Botanical Garden Lighting Festival, you can enjoy beautiful night view in nature. After sunset, the festival starts and you will be surrounded by incredible light colors. Don’t miss the fantastic lighting festival!

Opening period : November- March

Location : 242, Buheung-ro, Gwangtan-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea

Entry fee : 9000won for adults
