Places to Study at CAU

With finals coming up, many of you may be looking for a quiet and calm area to study in peace. If you happen to be one of those people: congratulations, you stumbled across the correct post! There are many places on and off-campus that would be very convenient to study in (with free wifi and outlets). Even if you’re not interested in studying, these places can be great to enjoy some coffee or tea and relax in a quiet environment, or even explore the surrounding areas.

For those that may want to study around campus without having to travel far, there are many study rooms on campus to choose from! It just so happens that these free and convenient areas are closer than you may realize.

Study Room in Building 308

For those that are looking into study rooms on campus, the dormitory may be a perfect place for you! These places are usually quiet, with individual desks and outlets. Many Chung-Ang University students find it very convenient.

This study room is the door right in front of the laundry rooms in Building 308, and is usually never full. Most students that use this room are the ones that seek complete silence and privacy!

Floor 1 Lounge

The lounge on the first floor of Dormitory 308 is one of the most popular areas for those that want to work on group projects, or even studying with friends. This area is usually filled up once classes end for the day and people use it as a hangout spot, so it may not be a preferred place for some! But if you don’t mind a little noise, you can just spend your time here to focus on your work.

It’s typically open all days between 5AM – 1AM. Those that try to stay there after curfew will most likely be told to go to their dorm by the security guards!

According to the Chung-Ang University website, the library “features a variety of facilities, such as 2,000-seat study halls, online-information rooms, and audio-visual centers.

The library is probably one of the most popular places for students at Chung-Ang University to study. Those that want to study there will most likely have to make a seat reservation. These two posts – 12 – can be referred to if you want directions on how to reserve a seat in the library!

There are many different options to choose from in the library, including an individual studying area with blocked off desks, along with an open studying area for those that may want to quietly study with friends. But it’s important to stay quiet when asked to, because other students are there looking for a peaceful place to study.

Off-Campus Study Areas

Many people may prefer having a coffee or tea while studying. Cafes are extremely popular, and around midterms and finals week, is usually packed with university students studying for their exams! Due to the popularity, there are many around Seoul and Chung Ang University’s campus that you can’t miss! These usually offer free places to charge your phone along with free wifi.
