During your time here, you will have the opportunity to experience the cafe culture. Cafes are important spots for meetings with friends, classmates, and of course, dates. Here are a few reviews for some of the cafes and beverage hot spots around campus that are beloved to all.
Starbucks
Starbucks is well known worldwide, although, every country has their own special aspect. On the drink menu you can find the same basic drinks; latte, cappuccino, tea, frappe, etc. Just like every Starbucks, they also have their limited time specialty drinks. During the fall season this year (2018), they’ve introduced a Taro frappe and Peanut cream latte. However, for the winter season, they have a Toffee Nut latte, Jeju hallabong latte, and holiday milk chocolate. The closest Starbucks near campus is located at 205-5, Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, Korea; just outside the front gate, to the left; directly across from the Chung-Ang University sign.
Ediya
Ediya is very popular among CAU students. This is primarily due to its convenient location, as well as its abundant variety in drink options. They have drinks ranging from your simple coffees to shakes, lemonades, juices, teas (hot or iced), and even a sweet potato latte! They also offer a nice selection of baked goods including muffins, cookies, breads with cream, sausage roll, etc. Ediya Coffee does not disappoint with their large menu.
Be:Bridge
Be:Bridge is arguably one of the favorites amongst students. It has an international themed menu with its drinks originating from different countries. They have passport style menus in English, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and French to accommodate those from abroad. One of this venues winning features is its reward system; if you buy 10 drinks (over time of course) then your 11th is free! Each time you pay, you hand over your “visa” stamp card and they stamp it with a cute stamp. Not only this, but the atmosphere is also very warm and comfortable. It is a great place to relax with your new international friends! Be:Bridge is located here, just a 2 minute walk away from the front gate.
Cafe W
Located on the B1 level of the 308 Building, Cafe W is where most students living in the dorm get their freshly brewed coffee early in the morning. It is a small cafe with seating in the foyer, giving you a nice place to people watch. It is also very efficient and doesn’t usually have a line or long wait.
Paris Baguette
Located at the front gate, Paris Baguette is a nice small cafe with outdoor seating to enjoy a beautiful day. It is a chain cafe, so your choices of baked goods will vary on the size of the store you visit, but the small branch by the front gate also has a pleasant variety of snacks and drinks.
