Introduction to E-Class 101

Today, you will be learning how to make a CAU e-mail, upload files on E-Class, check your grades, and contact your classmate(s) through CAU portal and do the course evaluations.

To give you general information, what is E-Class? The CAU Portal is also known as E-Class and it is where you can access all your classes ( Of course, you will need your CAU username ID and password to log in first! E-class will be your best friend once the semester starts.

Professor(s) will ask you to look at the E-Class for the uploaded files (e.g. PPTs, PDFs, etc.) needed for the class or any other supplemental materials.

The important features of E-Class that will definitely help you throughout the semester will be discussed below.

First, let’s learn how to set-up a CAU email account! Below, I will show you the step-by-step process!

You need to ask some questions to your classmates but you don’t have any of their contact information such as kakaotalk, email, or any phone numbers? Then this might be the best option for you! The third feature of E-Class that we are learning today is about contacting your classmate(s) through the messaging feature!

Below is the step-by-step process on how to contact your classmate(s) through Dashboard!

First, go to a dashboard of the course
If you click “사용자 및 그룹”, you can find all the members of the class including professor. Click the person’s name and it will lead you to the message page.
Click the red box(메시지 보내기)
Click “보내기” to send the message.

By the end of the semester, you will be asked to do a course evaluation and IT’S A MUST! You have to do it for all of your classes in order for you to see your grades. There will be specific dates on when you should do your course evaluations by! The dates will be announced by the Office of International Affairs through email so you better watch out for that!

Below is the step-by-step process on how to do the course evaluations!

Click E-class on the portal

  1. If you do not complete all your course evaluations then you will not be able to view your grade at the end of the semester.
  2. The purpose of being able to see your course grade at this point is so that you can talk to your professor regarding the grade you received.
  3. If you do not complete your course evaluation by a certain date, you will still be able to see your grades but at a later date after the grades are finalized and unable to change.
  4. We recommend that you complete your course evaluation so that you can view your grade and consult with your professor any issues regarding your grades.

Now that you are able to do your course evaluations, it’s time to check your grades! This might be the hardest one especially if your Korean skills…are bad (like me!). But no worries, I can still walk you through the steps in order for you to see your grades!

Hope that you were able to follow all the steps and didn’t get confused!
